Megan Gurney - Hospital Manager

Originally from Cape Cod, Meg has always known that she wanted to work with animals and has owned everything from horses, dogs, cats, bunnies, birds and pocket pets. Meg began riding horses at the age of 5 and showed her horses in regional dressage and local 4-H shows. Her first job was working as a receptionist in a small animal hospital while still in high school. She moved to Boston in 1999 and began working as an Adoption Counselor/Veterinary Technician at the Animal Rescue League of Boston. Wanting to become more involved in the veterinary medicine community, she joined the Boston Cat Hospital staff in 2000. Meg is involved in just about everything that goes on within the hospital and is happiest when multitasking! After much grooming experience with her own furry Himalayans she took over the task of providing our feline patients with their lion-cuts. She enjoys developing close client-patient relationships and has watched many of our clients' families grow over the years.

Meg lives on the south shore with her Miniature Pinscher Sadie, her two Himalayans Sammy and Smilla and her orange tabby cat Jasper. Meg enjoys training Sadie in agility through Boston Agility Racing K-9's (B.A.R.K.) and obedience through New England Dog Training Club (NEDTC). She can often be found teaching beginner level agility class at B.A.R.K. in her spare time.
